You may be noticing blue pinwheel gardens sprouting around the community. These are being planted by volunteers of 90by30’s East Lane Regional Leadership Team.

The Blue pinwheel is a symbol of a safe, carefree childhood, and throughout April you’ll see gardens of them sprouting up across Lane County as a visual marker of Child Abuse Prevention Month. There are many ways to show support for making our community a safer, healthier place for kids and families during Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Ask your employees to participate in a Wear Blue Day to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect – and the potential to prevent it. Share your best dressed-in-blue pictures on social media. Be sure to tag us @90by30.

Serve drinks on 90by30 coasters during April to share the prevention message with your customers.Support 90by30 on social media by following us on Facebook and Instagram.

For Faith communities, consider making your message on Blue Sabbath (April 23) or Blue Sunday (April 24) about supporting kids and families, or invite a 90by30 representative to talk about strategies being implemented right now.

Join 5000 Strong to support 90by30’s child abuse prevention strategies by making a $100 donation at friendsof90by30.org or by mailing a check to Friends of 90by30, PO Box 51612, Eugene, OR, 97405.

Host a fundraiser. Invite your network to a house party fundraiser, choose Friends of 90by30 for a Facebook birthday fundraiser, or challenge your friends or coworkers to match your contribution.

Support East Lane 90by30, Oakridge School District, and Willamette Lanes with a donation for the Free Bowling event for Elementary School students, pre-k through 6th grade and their parents (or adult supervision) on April 24.
