Housing Accountability Manager

Join the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) as the brand new Housing Accountability Manager in our Housing Services Division. This position will manage and direct the new Housing Accountability and Production Office (HAPO). This includes directing and coordinating the HAPO Accountability Team to meet review and decision timelines and to clearly communicate decision results and findings with vested parties including residential developers, local governments, and other interested parties. Under the leadership of this Housing Accountability Manager, the HAPO Accountability Team will administer a technical assistance grant fund to support and assist local governments in remedying development or zoning codes, land use ordinances, review processes, or others patterns and practices that are found to be out of compliance with state housing laws.

Senior Housing Accountability Planner

Join the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) as the new Senior Housing Accountability Planner (Planner 4) in our Housing Services Division. This position will serve as the lead subject matter expert within the new Housing Accountability and Production Office (HAPO). The Senior Accountability Planner will intake, research, review, and resolve issues of noncompliance with state housing laws. This position will also be responsible for leading the review, research, and decision-making of the issues that have the most statewide impact and are the most complex issues considered by the HAPO Accountability Team.

Monthly Salary: $6,318 – $9,700

Grants & Periodic Review Administrative Specialist

Join the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) as a Grants & Periodic Review Administrative Specialist (Administrative Specialist 2) in our Community Services Division. The Grants & Periodic Review Administrative Specialist assists the Community Services Division in administering the general fund grant program and to provide administrative support to the division manager and staff. This position is the principal position fulfilling public records requests and managing the post-acknowledgment plan amendment database. This position also provides administrative support to the Planning Services Division and Director’s Office and performs research, analysis, and/or evaluation in support of the program.

George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
