The driver of a pickup truck was killed and two passengers were injured Saturday morning, Aug. 21, in a single-vehicle crash on National Forest Road No. 21 near Hills Creek Reservoir.
Lane County sheriff’s deputies said a blue GMC Sierra was traveling northbound when it left the roadway and rolled at about 8:30 a.m. The driver Justin Allen Mooers, 34, of Eugene was pronounced deceased on the scene. Two passengers were transported to PeaceHealth Riverbend Hospital in Springfield to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by Oakridge Fire, Oakridge Police Department, the Bureau of Land Management and Oregon State Police.
