Oakridge, Ore.- Aug. 11, 2022— An emergency closure order has been issued for the Big
Swamp Fire on the Willamette National Forest. The Big Swamp Fire is at 117 acres following
yesterday’s operations. Crews continued to secure line with support from aviation resources.
Today’s operations will see firefighters continuing to find opportunities to go direct on portions
of the fire, securing lines and conducting mop up operations.
This closure includes Forest Service Road (FSR) 21 but not until the junction of FSR 2154 and FSR
2153. Additionally, it includes FSR 2134 and FSR 2133, and all associated spurs, south of FSR 21.
