By BEN OLSON/For The Herald — Your entertainment editor is corresponding today from Heber City, Utah, where I played a guitar and ukulele show for the folks at my mother’s assisted living home today. It was a most appreciative audience and I’ll be stopping to play for them again on my return trip in a few weeks.
In the Highway 58 corridor this week you will find Broken Horn playing an eclectic mix of rock, blues and country classics at the Lion Mountain Bakery in Oakridge on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8, 9 and 10, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. There is no cover charge. The Lion Mountain serves breakfast and lunch.
At the Dexter Lake Club in downtown Dexter there will be karaoke, as always, on Thursdays and the electric jam session/open mic this Sunday, October 10, hosted by Brian Chevalier. The jam kicks off about 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Oct. 12, Brian and Craig Sorseth host the acoustic jam session, starting around 6:30 p.m. Bring your instruments and join in the fun. No cover charge. I’ll be reporting from my old hometown in Wisconsin next week, where I will have experienced my 50-year high school class reunion. How time flies.
