By BEN OLSON/Correspondent/The Herald — The Spotlight Project Presents will offer an alternative entertainment choice to those who just can’t watch one more football game.
The Sunday, Feb. 13, show will go on at 7 p.m. and can be watched live streaming at thespotlightprojectpresents.com, or if you’re looking for a special experience, limited seating is available at the WAC center on School Street in Oakridge. You must be there by 6:30 p.m.
As featured musical guest, this week’s show will present Eugene’s own Cuchulain Kelly, talented songwriter and recording artist. Oakridge artist and instructor Weldon Oliver will be the community corner guest, and magician Jeff Martin will be “At the Table,” sleightly amazing and seriously funny. Molly McKitchen will do a segment on how to turn your Super Bowl leftovers into Valentine’s Day dinner. Your host will be the multi-talented Becky Chamberlain.
Meanwhile, live music is reappearing in the Highway 58 corridor. The Dexter Lake Club in the heart of downtown Dexter will have an open mic and jam session Tuesday night, Feb. 15 beginning about 6:30 and hosted by Brian Chevalier and Craig Sorseth.
I’ll be warming up the crowd with some eclectic tunes on the guitar, starting at 5 p.m. The Dexter Lake Club has a full bar and dinner menu. There are no cover charges for the event.
Broken Horn will play classic rock and pop tunes at the Lion Mountain Bakery in Oakridge this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lion Mountain serves a breakfast and lunch menu, and there is no cover charge for the entertainment.
The 3 Legged Crane in uptown Oakridge will resume offering live music beginning next week. I’ll keep you posted as I get more information. Please support live music!
