Craig Sorseth, left, and Tom West — both graduates of Oakridge High School — perform these days as The HipBillys, one of the most heavily booked acts at area wineries and brew pubs before COVID-19 crippled the region’s music scene. They will perform Saturday evening, Sept. 4, at Deep Woods Distillery in Oakridge.

Because of renewed COVID-19 restrictions, bands originally scheduled for this Labor Day weekend had to cancel their bookings at Deep Woods Distillery in Oakridge. Filling in instead, The Hipbillys will take the Deep Woods stage from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, and soloist Ben Olson will play Sunday, Sept. 5, from about 5:30 p.m. until sundown.

All Deep Woods entertainment is performed on an outdoor stage at the Distillery Garden (Insensitive Wetlands), 48217 E. First St. in the historic Uptown district of Oakridge. The Deep Woods Whiskey Wagon will be providing beverages and the Buen Dia food truck will be on-site serving Mexican cuisine.

The HipBillys are a Eugene-area duo composed of former Oakridge musicians/singers Craig Sorseth on guitar and Tom West on harmonica and guitar. Ben Olson, frontman for the Oakridge band Song Dawgz, performs solo as a vocalist on ukulele and guitar.

3 Legged Crane Pub and Brewhouse

Regular weekly gigs by the Oakridge band Song Dawgz and other summer entertainment is on hold at the pub as a result of tightened COVID-19 restrictions.

Lion Mountain Bakery

Singer-songwriter Broken Horn performs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Friday evenings during the 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. dinners at Lion Mountain Bakery at 47781 Highway 58. Accompanying himself on guitar, Broken Horn offers an eclectic mix of rhythm and blues, rock, country, pop and original compositions.

Sunday mornings normally feature Ben Olson of Oakridge doing a solo ukulele performance for the bakery’s breakfast crowd, but those are on hold because of tightening COVID-19 protocols.

Odell Lake Lodge & Resort

The Song Dawgz of Oakridge are booked for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, on the lodge’s outdoor patio deck.
