The Oakridge fireworks committee announced on Friday that the community will have an Independence Day Festival on Sunday, July 4, at Greenwaters Park.
And, yes, after dark there will be fireworks.
Gates will open at 10 a.m. and festivities will begin at 11 a.m. They include a “Red, White and Blue Car Show.” Vehicles from any era are welcome, and you can sign up by contacting Michelle Coker at [email protected].
Also planned are children’s games, face painting, food vendors, a raffle drawing and craft booths. Three bands are also booked for the amphitheater stage — Muddy Souls, Crestview and Micky Wicked.
It’s a free family-friendly event with no alcohol allowed in the park. More information and updates can be found on the website for the festival committee.
