By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor/The Herald — We’ve received a number of calls from readers who have been frustrated by trying to login to read The Herald. We recently imposed a paywall to help garner some revenue so that we can pay our bills and keep local journalism alive.
Once you try to open any article on the landing or home page, you will immediately encounter a message asking you to subscribe/donate.
“But I’ve already registered!” you may say.
If you have already signed up as a subscriber, there should be a LOGIN button on the green bar at the top of the page. LOGIN will be on the far right. Click that and you should get to your article and everything else.
If you want to read The Herald for free, you may do so. When you are faced with the paywall, simply scroll just below where it asks you to subscribe for a month, a year, or a special donation amount. Below those boxes it says that you can continue reading for free for the next seven days. But you will have to put in all the subscriber details to get there. This process will allow you to continue reading for seven days and then you’ll be asked again to sign in. We urge you to be a paid subscriber.
It costs thousands of dollars each month just to get The Herald out to you. Reporters, office staff, website hosting, etc… cost. Please help us to continue bringing local news, stories, and vital information to you on a daily basis with your subscription or generous donation.
If you are still having problems logging in, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re not always at the office, so leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we get your message. Thanks.
