ODOT’s TripCheck Website Is Now at Your Fingertips
The first drop-down item on our WEATHER/HWY menu is the Oregon Department of Transportation’s helpful TripCheck website.
A click or tap will take you first to TripCheck’s highway camera map. Click on any of the camera icons and you will see, in real time, what conditions look like at that location.
For example, let’s say you need to drive today from Lowell to Klamath Falls. Click on the Oakridge camera and it will show you how things look near the town’s only stoplight, at Highway 58 and Crest Drive.
Then click on the Salt Creek Tunnel, Willamette Pass and Crescent cameras for a peek at what might await you in the high country.
Additional cameras are spaced strategically from Crescent all the way to Klamath Falls on Highway 97.
One of the best features of the TripCheck camera page is that it provides a portal to all the many other services provided through the TripCheck website.
Check the Forecasts in Three Different Microclimates
The Herald’s WEATHER/HWY sub-menu also provides weather forecasts for three different Highway 58 areas that often have substantially different weather conditions: Eugene-Springfield, Oakridge and Cascade Summit (Willamette Pass).
