Projects will support community safety, housing and infrastructure 
WASHINGTON, DC— U.S. Rep. Val Hoyle (D-Springfield) today announced she secured $14,676,354 million for 13 projects in Oregon’s 4th congressional district in the House-passed Consolidated Appropriations Act 2024 (HR 4366) The U.S. Senate is now considering that legislation.
These projects will help support community health and safety, build more housing and infrastructure across Oregon’s 4th Congressional District.
§ Benton County
o $963,000 for Regional Public Safety Radio Infrastructure
o $1,000,000 for Monroe Rural Health Center
§ Coos County
o $552,000 for Coos County Records Reduction and Accessibility Project
o $4,000,000 for City of North Bend Affordable Workforce Housing
§ Curry County
o $2,521,000 for Oregon Kelp Forest Protection and Restoration Initiative
§ Douglas County
o $500,000 for Glide Revitalization Community Resource Center
o $1,000,000 for Kellogg Rural Fire District – Main Fire Station
§ Lane County
o $1,000,000 for County of Lane Emergency Communications Resiliency and Interoperability Project
o $500,000 for Willamette Activity Center Renovation Project, Oakridge
o $1,116,279 for Mill Street Reconstruction, Springfield, OR
o $963,000 for Eugene Police Department Body-Worn Camera/In-Car Video
o $200,000 for Springfield Police Department Comprehensive Training Package
§ Lincoln County
o $361,075 for Port of Newport International Terminal Dock Repair Newport, OR
George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
