Oakridge minister and poet Iris Barratt is calling on the community to join her for a brief Earth Day observance and celebration at noon Thursday, April 22, at Greenwaters Park in Oakridge.
“Come and celebrate Earth Day with us,” she writes in a news release. “Bring your drum, rattle, voice, presence or whatever! A simple Native American chant will also be sung and learned to honor our Earth.”
The event is from noon to 12:30 p.m.
“Meet at the picnic shelter by the bridge,” said Barratt, who officiates at weddings, ceremonies and award celebrations. “Social distancing will be easy! Let us join in celebration of spring!”
