June is a very busy month as summer kicks into high gear. The place where you can have it all is Diamond Peak Wine Bar Gallery and Gifts.
In case you missed it, this beautiful space at 48309 East 1st is a permanent venue for live performance, fine art, adult beverages, soft drinks, box lunches/snacks, an open courtyard with outdoor games, and sheltered seating. It’s a one-stop venue for families. Even the family pooch on a leash is welcome.
Here’s what’s coming up:
June 15th
Ribbon cutting ceremony by the Chamber of Commerce at 5 PM
The Ukuleleians take the stage at 5:30 PM
Bluegrass duo Sequoia Rose plays from 6 to 8:30 PM
Outdoor bar at 4 PM, games, and shaded seating
June 21st
Friday kicks off to the Bus Fair with Kelly Thibodeaux & The Etouffee Band with special guest, Peter Wilde at 6 PM
Matt & Mitty’s Food Truck, famous for their Blackberry Grilled Cheese sandwiches, will be on site at 4 PM
Outdoor bar at 4 PM, games, and shaded seating
June 23rd
Sweet ‘n Juicy, an original funk, rock, and soul band take the outdoor stage at 6 PM
Dogs Gone Coastal, a mobile hotdog cart with attitude will be on site at 4 PM

July 6
Alien Echo, local Psychedelic Rockers, start at 6 PM

Local artist, muralist, and workshop instructor, Barbara Counsil Burney, is the featured artist for the month of June at Diamond Peak Wine Bar Gallery and Gifts. Barbara’s paintings vary from traditional still life to whimsical paintings which will delight young and old.

Janet Hansen retired from the music industry as a senior marketing exec and publicist in 2017 after more than three decades. Her work comprised interfacing with national media in campaigns that include credits in three GRAMMY awards, and two of history’s most popular songs. She returned to her home in Oakridge in 2019 as a semi-retired freelance writer and publicist.
George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
