Story by Hayden Herrera/KMTR Eugene — The Lowell Red Devils are headed to the OSAA 2A state championship game after defeating defending state champions Oakland 32-18 in the semifinal at Willamette High School.
Lowell hasn’t reached a state championship game since 2013 when the Red Devils lost in the 1A title game to Imbler.
Lowell quarterback Carter Harris suffered an injury in the second quarter that required an ambulance to cart him off the field. Mid-Major Media reports that a first responder noted that Harris was moving and talking. The game paused for around 30 minutes before resuming.
Lowell will face #1 Weston-McEwen/Griswold on Saturday, November 25th at 2 p.m. at Hillsboro Stadium. Lowell lost to Weston-McEwen on September 23rd in a 25-23 contest.
