Masks are required and visitors must be limited, but the Oakridge City Library reopened Monday under Lane County’s newly relaxed COVID-19 restrictions.
The long-awaited reopening was made possible by the Oregon Health Authority’s recategorization of the county from “extreme risk” to “high risk” for the spread of the coronavirus.
The keyword here is “risk.” There is still plenty of that, so the library has put limits on computer users (two at a time), wireless users (three at a time) and book browsers (two at a time).
Browsers must wear gloves, which can be requested at the desk.
For those who prefer, the library will continue to allow books to be checked out by telephone (541-782-2258) or email ([email protected]; ) and will leave them for patrons by the front door. The library’s on-line catalog can be viewed on this website. Click on “Oakridge Library.”
