EDITOR’S NOTE: The following news release was submitted by Dustin Rymph, project manager for the Southern Willamette Forest Collaborative.
With wildfire season behind us, it’s time to start preparing your home for next summer. Little things you do have a big impact on making your home Firewise. Cleaning gutters, mowing lawns, and moving wood away from your house are simple ways to reduce your risk. But not everybody is able to do or afford this work. For those with physical disability, low income, and who are elderly, The Southern Willamette Forest Collaborative can provide FREE help.
We are seeking 25 households (renters welcome) that need assistance. You MUST live within the city limits of Oakridge or Westfir. The deadline to apply for this assistance is November 15, and funding for this phase of work runs out December 31. Preference will be given to people with physical disabilities, who are elderly, and who have low income.
To apply, contact the Southern Willamette Forest Collaborative.
Call 541-782-3422 Ext. 2 (Dustin Rymph) or email [email protected].
