By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor — Three seats for the Oakridge City Council and two seats for Westfir City Council are on the ballot. The position of mayor for both cities is also being voted on; one contested and one not. The City of Lowell has four council seats to fill.
Here are the unofficial results from the Lane County Elections at 11pm. Results indicate that Bryan Cutchen will be assuming duties as mayor of Oakridge in January. Results posted at that time were Cutchen 674 votes, Hollett 510 votes.
Williams continues as mayor
Westfir has confirmed that Mayor D’Lynn Williams will continue at her post. She recently assumed the position of Westfir mayor due to a recent vacancy.
Oakridge council seats will be assumed by Jan Hooker, who received 654 votes, Michelle Coker with 604 votes. Dirk (Poncho) Tarman received 581 votes, to fill the third position.
Westfir City Council seats will be filled by Kelly Packard who received 69 votes, and Deretta Huey who garnered 62 votes.
Lowell fills four council slots
The results of the City of Lowell’s four Councilor positions up for election are as follows: Don Bennet, Jimmy Murray, and Maureen Weathers were elected to council seats. The fourth seat has, to date, accumulated 130 write-in votes, name yet to be given.
The next results from the Lane County elections committee will be posted Wednesday evening at 5pm.
