By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor — I have played only a little volleyball in my time. I can’t jump. However, the girls of the Oakridge High School volleyball team can jump, leap, dive, and spike like few in the State of Oregon. With an amazing 25 wins and only 2 losses, the team will be heading to Roseburg this Saturday, October 21st, to play for the league to determine seeding for the State Championship.
The tournament will be single elimination bracket of sixteen teams playing for the top honor. The sixteen qualifying teams will be notified next Tuesday as to their seeding and home advantage Tournament play will start on October 28th.
Allison Williams, the team’s coach, is, obviously, very proud of her girls. She said the team Captains, Jade and Sadie Snyder, have been the leading scorers of this tough stable of girls.
I’m sure that everyone is wishing our girls into the championship. When our girls get home advantage, as we’re all sure they will, make plans to attend their game and cheer our winners on.
