With credit to the Warrior Report 11/16/23 — Congratulations to the Warrior volleyball team on a thrilling and meaningful season! After finishing the regular season with a 25-2 record (including 16-0 in League), our girls beat Culver in straight sets at home in the first round of State playoffs, and entered the State Tournament in Redmond as the 3- seed.
Their first match there was against rival Lowell, which played great and pushed the game to five sets, but ultimately, Lowell couldn’t overcome the powerful hitting of the Snyder sisters. The semifinal loss against eventual State Champion Portland Christian ended our 18-match win streak, and the season ended with a competitive three-set loss to Western Christian. Not the dream ending we had hoped for, but we are extremely proud of our girls for bringing home a 5th place trophy as well as the tournament Sportsmanship award.
Also, congrats to the following league award winners:
Coach of the Year: Allison Williams.
1st team: Jade Snyder (Player of the Year) & Sadie Snyder. 2nd team: Alexa Hawkins, Bri Jones, Kali Williams.
Sportsmanship Award:
Oakridge High School
Honorable mentions:
Vanessa Keller, Braylee Ketch
The team also wishes to offer their thanks for the wonderful fan support all year, and especially for the huge showing of over 50 community members at the State Tournament in Redmond.
