Oakridge Library Bookmark Contest Winners Announced

By GEORGI SAMUELSON/for The Herald — First Place winners of the 3 age groupings were Aurora Towne age 7; First Place Heloisy Moto de Nascimento age 11; and First Place Mackenzie Frelich age 13.

The winners were feted at the library board meeting. The first and second place winners of each age group received gift certificates to Barnes & Noble and the 3rd place winners were awarded $10 gift certificates to DQ.

In other library news, both StoryTime and Chess Club are on summer vacation and will start again in the fall. Chess players can look forward to another tournament in the winter.

The Oakridge Library’s Summer Program will be held in July. Preschool and kindergarten children will meet on Wednesday mornings in July and first grade and up will meet Friday mornings in July. Registration forms are available at the front desk of the library.

The library has a “How To” book on “disc golf for beginners” plus you can check out some practice discs. The book is located on the side of the “new” bookshelf.
