Oakridge City Hall

By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor  —  You may want to attend or Zoom this Thursday’s regular session of the Oakridge City Council. Along with numerous agenda items to be heard, Mayor Bryan Cutchen will be delivering his State of the City (SOTC) address.

The SOTC address usually contains the mayor’s reflection on the past year as well as looking toward the upcoming new year. The entire State of the City address will be made available to our readers once released to The Herald.

Big changes may be in store for Oakridge airport

The city will be sending a letter of support to the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA). The EDA is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The letter pledges Oakridge’s support for a proposed massive development at the Oakridge Airport by the Oregon Department of Aviation. The letter, to be cosigned by the mayor and city administrator, speaks to the positive aspects of the proposed project.

You can read the letter below.
