Our local veterans will be served lunch and honored Thursday, November 9, in the Oakridge Junior/Senior High School cafeteria. Veterans and their families are welcome but must check in at the main office between 11:30 – 11:45, when lunch will begin.
After lunch, veterans are welcome to stay for a program from 1:20 – 1:50pm to educate our students and honor those servicemen and women who live in our community. This special program will include a flag ceremony led by our local scout troop, accounts of service from selected veterans, and a presentation on the history and significance of celebrating November 11 as Veterans Day.
If you have been or are a serviceman, servicewomen, or veteran, please join us at the high school this Thursday. Our servicemembers are members of the organization that keeps our country safe and democracy real. If you know an active duty service person or veteran, please pass the word.
Everyone in our community is invited to the flag ceremony and recognition of our veterans at 1:20 in the high school theatre. Remembering our past ensures a safer future.
This months business and social meeting of the Post is this Wednesday, 6 p.m., at the Oakridge Moose Lodge. The bar will be available after the meeting for food, drink, and socializing.
