Jay Skordahl of Westfir is asking for community volunteers to attend a gathering at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the Oakridge Museum to discuss the growing problem of “dirty camps” along the North Fork, Salmon Creek, Salt Creek, Hills Creek and Middle Fork watersheds.
Part 1 of the meeting to organize a cleanup starting this coming Saturday, Sept. 25.
Part 2 of the meeting will be for starting to organize and develop an action plan to address the growing and unacceptable abuses and wildfire dangers posed by “non-recreational campers,” in and around our communities and watersheds.
“This will require a community-wide effort, and I hope you can join us,” Skordahl said.
