2023 family fishing events – we’ve just added more

The family fishing event calendar is filling up fast. These events are aimed at the whole family and can be a great way to learn how to fish together. Find an event near you.

Apply for your big game hunt tag

Less than TWO weeks left to apply for your 2023 big game tag. This is our annual reminder to apply early to avoid the last-minute rush and to allow for kinks in the system. Maybe one year it will work. How to apply online.

Please, consider picking up after others

We wish it didn’t have to be this way. But as more anglers hit the water, more trash piles up on shore. We know it’s not your job to pick up discarded beer cans, slurpee cups, fishing line, hamburger wrappers and other trash that isn’t yours. But if everyone pitched in and picked up what they saw, wouldn’t it be a nicer place to fish?

Best bets for weekend fishing

Stocked trout, spring Chinook and early warmwater fishing are good choices for weekend fishing.

  • Trout are now being stocked somewhere in every fishing zone. With water temperatures warming up, fish have been active and on the bite.
  • Spring Chinook fishing is well underway on the lower Willamette, Rogue and Umpqua basins.
  • Anglers are already catching bass and crappie in several locations.
