Expect rolling slowdowns or delays Thursday in both directions on Interstate 5 around milepost 185, about halfway between Goshen and Creswell, as we assist utility crews in restoring seven downed power lines.
The winter storm has brought down trees and utility lines across northwest Oregon this past week, and more freezing rain is forecast for Thursday and Friday at elevations above the Willamette Valley. If you must travel, please check weather forecasts and Tripcheck.com before you go, carry tire chains, go slowly and watch for winter road crews. Also, never drive over downed utility lines.
OR 126W remains closed Thursday from milepost 14 to 40 – near Mapleton to Noti – due to many down trees and utility lines. OR 36 also remains closed from milepost 11 to 36, northeast of Mapleton, due to downed trees. Crews are continuing to clear trees, but reopening times are unknown. More Info Here.
