EDITOR’S NOTE: The following was submitted by ODOT, the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Starting Oct. 2 through Oct. 9, crews working for ODOT will be beginning essential repairs on the Old Barnard Bridge, which spans the Willamette River on Highway 58 just west of Oakridge. You should expect both single lane and complete bridge closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
For the duration of full bridge closures, a detour utilizing Highway 58 and Westfir-Oakridge Road will be in effect. This closure is to replace steel cross members, which sustained damage from an oversized load.
Schedule:
- Monday, Oct. 2: lane closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Oct. 3 to Friday, Oct. 6: full bridge closure from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 7 to Monday, Oct. 9: lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
While we aim to complete the repairs by Monday, reopening times may vary each day. Any time you travel in Oregon, visit Tripcheck.com while you plan your trip and before you hit the road for the latest traffic, work zone and weather information.
