Oregon Main Street Grant for 2025 – Local Projects Requested by UBRA
On Monday, September 30th, the Uptown Business & Revitalization Association, (UBRA), released an RFEI (request for expressions of interest), for the biennial Oregon Main Street Grant. It is noteworthy that the upper limit for this grant has increased to $400,000 per individual award. The grant is administered through the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department under Heritage Grants. The funds are provided by the state legislature through sales of lottery bonds.
UBRA is eligible to apply in partnership with local businesses as an Oregon Main Street Affiliate member of the statewide network of main street organizations. During this call for projects, UBRA is open to a wide variety of capital projects that add to the district’s economic vitality. The committee formed to oversee this process seeks to make submission of the paperwork easy and accessible to as many teams and projects as are eligible. However, these applications take a lot of time for all parties to gather the necessary materials and establish a strong working relationship with the selected partner(s).
To maximize the limited time available, the UBRA grant committee is opening this call for interested partners by asking the minimal amount of information necessary to identify strong applications. At this stage of application development, we are looking for partners with:
- The necessary skills and experience to do the proposed work;
- A commitment to the community and the 3-year reporting requirements (regardless of how quickly the work is completed);
- A strong conceptual picture of what they propose to do which aligns with community needs and market analysis;
- A fairly accurate picture of the proposed budget (not requiring architectural drawings or bids yet, though more of these details will be required by submittal in March 2025);
- Available match funds or ability to demonstrate they will meet match requirements.
Once selection is made, project teams can expect to be highly involved with UBRA in preparing all necessary materials. You will enter into an agreement with UBRA to partner upon implementation. Should the application receive funding, UBRA and partners are both expected to be compliant and diligent in all financial and reporting matters through the life cycle of the grant. The RFEI is open until October 11th at 5 pm. Contact UBRA to request details by emailing [email protected] .
