Public assistance is being sought in locating the vehicle involved in a fatal accident that occurred at 8:48 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 5 near the exit to Glenwood. Oregon State Police said the vehicle continued south on the interstate or exited toward Highway 58.
The vehicle was “likely a dark blue pickup truck with passenger-side mirror damage. The appearance of the damage may be minimal,” police said.
Preliminary investigation revealed a pedestrian, identified as Gale Rodgers, 61, of Springfield, was struck by a southbound vehicle on Interstate 5. Rodgers sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
