By IRIS K BARRATT
The shadow mirror is a part of who we all are,
Individually and collectively with it we continually spar.
Judging the shadow of others is so easy to do,
Until you discover their annoying dysfunction is a part of you too!
Unexplored shadow breeds war, poverty and indifference far and wide,
It screams for us to collectively accept reality and turn the tide.
Within governments, companies, cultures and maniacs it will hide,
Insanity continues as power mongers mean egos cruelty rides.
Our shadows beg to be denied, suppressed and repressed,
So, into self-honesty we dive, as darkness must be addressed.
For being a boastful, judgmental jerk,
Is certainly an unwelcome personality quirk.
The absolute kill-joy of creativity is any and all Repression,
So, our gift is to find appropriate, creative Self-expression.
Befriending our shadow can enhance creative fun,
When astutely delivered as an insightful pun!
To laugh at others crap and then to see your crappy self too,
Can bring us all to compassion, acceptance and love, Yahoo!
Who knew that psychology & social skills 101,
Could be so enlightening and so very much fun!
