This photo was taken over a week ago so you may or may not witness it. The tributaries to the Middle Fork of the Willamette are all up a bit, though. Let’s hope a nice gradual thaw to keep the flooding at bay. Mike and his dad, John, walk into the falls as the campground is still closed to vehicles. I’m hoping that Mike will enrich us by giving us some of his tips on taking the perfect shot.
George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
