LCOG, the Lane Council of Governments, is hosting its second annual fundraising race called A Race for the Rest of Us. Proceeds go to Senior & Disability Services (S&DS) Senior Meals Programs.
From July 21 to July 25, participants can complete the 0.5k race virtually on their own time. Every participant receives a T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, 0.5k sticker,and sponsor swag. Registration is open now and closes Sunday, July 4 at 11:59 p.m. with the option for participants to have their race packet shipped to them directly. Brenda Wilson, LCOG Executive Director says, “This is a fun and easy way to invest in our
region and make a real difference!”

Senior Meals Programs operate 11 Café 60 dining rooms throughout Lane County and Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver lunches and safety
checks for home-bound older neighbors in 8 Lane County communities. Both programs serve adults age 60 and older and their spouses, regardless of their income.
Last year, the Meals on Wheels program, in partnership with Food for Lane County, served over 192,400 meals to 1,375 participants. The Café 60’s served over 71,200 meals to 931 participants.
