Resources for Cedar Creek Fire evacuees

Thank you for completing the intake form so we can help connect you with resources and keep you up-to-date regarding evacuation levels.

Red Cross

As many of you know the American Red Cross has been operating a shelter at the Lane Events Center (796 West 13th Ave. Eugene) where it is providing food, restrooms, water, showers and access to health assessments and medication for those sheltering or car camping at the Lane Events Center. The shelter remains open for those in need. As evacuation levels drop, community partners and Red Cross workers will connect with residents to help make plans for returning home.

There are other resources that may be helpful as you work through this challenging time. The American Red Cross has a resource list for those that have been impacted by fires. Click here to access the list.

FOOD for Lane County Mobile Pantry

FOOD For Lane County (FFLC) is hosting a Mobile Pantry distribution in Oakridge this Wednesday, September 14. from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Oakridge High School parking lot located at 47997 W. 1st Street.

FFLC will distribute pre-packed boxes of pantry staples, produce, dairy and meat. Everyone is welcome to pick up a box for themselves, or on behalf of a neighbor, loved one, or anyone else affected by the fire. These boxes are first come, first served.  If demand is high, FFLC will schedule an additional distribution this week.

FFLC is seeking 10 volunteers to help us support the distribution. Volunteer shifts are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (they can be flexible if someone needs to leave early.)  For more information and to sign up:  Mobile Pantry Distribution: Oakridge (Cedar Creek Fire Response).

FFLC is working to coordinate with DHS to have a team member on site who can help connect any SNAP recipient who lost perishables due to power outages with SNAP Replacement funds.

Much thanks to the Oakridge School District, Head Start, One Hope, McKenzie Long Term Recovery Group and other Lane County COAD agencies that have helped coordinate this distribution.

SNAP Replacement

Current SNAP recipients who have lost food purchased with SNAP benefits due to fires, storms, flooding, power outages, or other misfortunes may be eligible to have those benefits replaced. View a flyer from ODHS.

What you need to do:

  • Fill out and submit a replacement form to your local Oregon Department of Human Services office within 10 days of the loss. You can do this by mail or in person.
  • If you are unable to submit the form within 10 days, call your local Oregon Department of Human Services office immediately to verbally report the loss. You will then have 10 days to return the form after you report. The Eugene office can be reached at
    541-686-7878.
  • 2-1-1 can help you report the loss and submit the form. They can also help you obtain the form in other languages if necessary. 2-1-1 is a community partner who can help with any questions you may have about SNAP. It’s free.

Other Resources

We recognize that some of you have been displaced to different parts of the county and want to make sure you have local resources. Some of these resources and services have been disrupted due to the evacuation.
