By GEORGE CUSTER/The Herald — A fatality crash between a pedestrian and an automobile occurred around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night near the Union 76 gas station in Oakridge. The pedestrian, identified as 71-year-old Dale Michaels Roberts of Oakridge, was struck by a westbound white Kia Soul. Roberts was pronounced dead while emergency vehicles were in rout to the hospital.
The driver of the Kia was identified as 53-year-old Robert Anthony Fraser, also of Oakridge. Fraser was arrested for DUII. The Lane County District Attorney’s office will determine if there will be other charges brought against Fraser after their investigation is completed.
