OAKRIDGE || JANUARY 13 4;45 P.M.
By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor — Several gun shots were fired into the air by a person who was in the parking lot of the Oakridge Fire Department Saturday afternoon.
Oakridge police officers reserve Lt. Ritz, an Oregon State Police Fish and Game trooper, the OPD Duty officer, and OPD Chief Kevin Martin responded to the scene and took the suspect into custody without incident. There were no injuries reported, and Chief Martin indicated that there is no other known threat to the community. The subject is being transported to the Lane county jail.
An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.

George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California.
