By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor  —  A fire was reported early Saturday afternoon near the Bedrock Campground on the Middle Fork Ranger District. The fire is several miles northeast of Fall Creek and Lowell. It had consumed approximately 80-100 acres by 9 p.m. according to the Oregon Dept. of Forestry.

As of Sunday evening, no evacuations had been ordered. However, it is advised to avoid travel on Big Fall Creek Road and all campgrounds along Fall Creek Road to allow for priority of emergency vehicles. Both Oregon Department of Forestry and U.S. Forest Service personnel are engaging the fire. Several campgrounds along Big Fall Creek Road are closed.

The Herald will update this story as information is made available.
