If there’s going to be an Oregon State Fair this year, it will be held Aug. 27 through Sept. 6, according to state fair officials. The event was cancelled last year because of COVID-19 restrictions, which are being rapidly eased across the state because of Oregon’s fast-improving vaccination rate.
The state fair staff says an announcement about plans for a 2021 event at the state fairgrounds in Salem will be forthcoming in June. Meanwhile, nine concerts have been tentatively booked for those fair dates, and the fair is already accepting applications from commercial vendors.
Meanwhile, plans for restoring county fairs are being announced across the state. That includes Lane County, where the fair is planned for July 21-25 after being cancelled last summer because of the pandemic.
