Board of County Commissioners Chair Pat Farr will share accomplishments of the past year and foreshadow the work for 2023 with a focus on the intersection of public safety and behavioral health.
Ceremonial swearings-in will be held for the incoming assessor, Mary Vuksich-Shafer, the re-elected Commissioner Heather Buch (East Lane), the newly elected commissioners Ryan Ceniga (West Lane) and David Loveall (Springfield), and the re-elected justice of the peace, Richard Brissenden.
Local musician Paul Biondi will play during the event.
Community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. The event will also be livestreamed at www.LaneCountyOR.gov/webcasts and broadcast on Comcast Channel 21 in the Eugene-Springfield area.
The first Board of County Commissioners meeting of 2023 will be held the following day, Tuesday, January 10, at 9:00 a.m.
George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
