Shelby Tarman and Kate Earl are thrilled to host their first year organizing the beloved Oakridge Sugar Plum Festival! This cherished community tradition will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM, at the Oakridge Elementary School Gym. The event features festive holiday shopping, crafts, and a visit from Santa. Proceeds will be donated to the Oakridge Mat Club, supporting a local youth program. Join us to celebrate the season and give back to our community!
George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
