By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor/The Herald  —  Texas Pride Trailers, home based in Madisonville, Texas, will commence doing business from the Oakridge Industrial Park within the coming months.  According to Micah Brett, the company’s representative to Oakridge, Texas Pride Trailers will soon be having trailers shipped to Oakridge. From here, retailing and wholesaling will commence once the company has secured the property with fencing and has placed an office on the site.

Texas company’s first venture into the Northwest

As time permits, the company currently plans to expand further and develop a manufacturing facility on the site. Texas Pride Trailers currently has operations in eight locations throughout the country, including their original location in Madisonville. Recently, Texas Pride Trailers celebrated the opening of their latest facility in East Bend, North Carolina.

The company builds many types of trailers. These include dump trailers, car haulers, flatbeds, roll offs, tilts, and lowboys. Also, the company will build-to-suit your custom trailer needs. Their advances in continuing technology has made them one of the nation’s leaders in trailer manufacturing and sales.

Oakridge hospitality sealed the deal

Jim Bray, founder and owner of the family-owned manufacturing company, and his wife Sonya visited Oakridge in early 2019. Louis Gomez, the former City Administrator, sold two lots, totaling approximately sixteen acres, in the heart of the OIP, to Jim’s company. Jim told Louis that the reception he received from Oakridge was wonderful. Also, he said the way he was treated here was in stark contrast to the way his company was received by the City of Reno, Nevada, where Texas Pride was also considering a site. Regardless, the long silence that ensued after the property purchased left some at the City wondering when the company would materialize.

Micah stated over and over how beautiful the Oakridge area is. He plans, once the business is established here, to go adventuring all around Oregon to discover what our beautiful state has to offer. The author believes that Micah, originally from Florida, is one of those people who was always destined to live in our beautiful mountains. He has plans to build a home  in the area in the future.

As Jim’s brother, Micah comes with the full confidence and backing of the multimillion-dollar company. Once Micah is settled in, he plans to get to work quickly to get the company “up and rolling”. He said to be looking for Texas Pride Trailers to be rolling into the OIP on their company-owned trucks soon.

Started in 1998, Texas Pride Trailers currently employs around 330 personnel nationwide. Their coming to Oakridge will certainly be a “shot-in-the-arm” to our local economy.

A company with community in mind
