No matter if you are a renter or looking to own, housing in Oregon is becoming less affordable, available, and attainable. Currently, there are limited housing options to meet the needs for both existing and future residents of Oakridge and Westfir, and there is no established roadmap for understanding and determining the types of housing that are most needed, and to what degree.
As both Oakridge and Westfir have continued to grow and housing become more limited, the cities are evaluating current needs, potential solutions, and actions. This process is called a Housing Needs Analysis (HNA).
In its current phase of the project, the cities of Oakridge and Westfir are looking to understand the community’s interests and concerns in the area and how an HNA could identify actions to address those priorities. Public engagement and involvement are essential to the success of this project.
Residents of Oakridge and Westfir are encouraged to fill out our Community Survey to voice their current and future needs for housing, as well as potential actions that the cities could consider.
For questions or to learn more about the Housing Needs Analysis project, please contact: James Cleavenger, City Administrator, [email protected], (541) 782‑2258.
