Hello dear readers!
It was suggested to me that those of you who get this weekly email version of The Herald as part of your subscription might be missing some of the good articles farther down the page. It’s easy to glance at the first few articles and say, “that’s enough”. The articles come to you in chronological order with yesterday afternoon’s posting landing at the top. However, please take an extra minute to scroll throughout all the posts. There might just be something you missed! As always, we aim to give you news and information that is pertinent to you.
Earlier this week, Rob DeHarpport gave a fine synopsis of fishing and camping conditions up on the high lakes area. Andrew will ease your mind about how our ballots are handled. There’s another story on Oakridge City Council looking forward (not!) to budget season.
George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
