By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor/The Herald — I’ve been out of town and on the road literally most of the day. That’s the excuse I have for being late with this message to all the mothers out there. Having to pack up and be out by late morning from our stay is another excuse. I could go on making up any number of reasons why I didn’t think to get a “Happy Mom’s Day” out earlier. I guess I’m just a bad son.
Maybe the pink rose in the picture is an offering for my apology. Don’t buy that? I wouldn’t blame you.
I’m not going into the history of Mother’s Day. Nor am I going to say a bunch of soppy stuff about how thankful we all are for having moms. That’s your job guys! I just want to broadcast my heartfelt sentiment to all moms and recognize the day.
Guys, if you haven’t called your mom, do so now while it’s on your mind, like right now! You’ll say, “oh yeah, I should call my mom”, and five minutes later you’ll forget to do it. I don’t have to admonish the women out there; they remember these things. They’re great that way.
