There are four positions open for election on the Upper Willamette Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Directors. After the election, these positions will fill a term to begin on January 1, 2023.
The Upper Willamette Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Directors is comprised of seven board members. Each member is elected by the registered voters of the district to serve a four-year term.
Interested candidates can obtain an information packet, which includes information about the district and positions, from the district office or on the Upper Willamette Soil & Water Conservation District’s website at https://uwswcd.org/about/board/.

The first day to file is July 21, 2022, and the last day to file is August 30, 2022.

The Upper Willamette Soil and Conservation District was formed in December 22, 1954. UWSWCD encompasses 1.9 million acres across a large portion of central and eastern Lane County, including the major metropolitan areas of Eugene and Springfield. George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
