Valley River Center hosts the 44th Annual Model Train Show, featuring a Food Drive to Benefit FOOD for Lane County
Eugene, OR – January 9, 2024 — Valley River Center is delighted to announce the arrival of the 44th Annual Model Train Show, showcasing the enchanting world of trains in collaboration with the Willamette Cascade Model Railroad Club and Atlantic Pacific N-engineers club. This year’s event goes beyond the tracks, incorporating a Food Drive to support FOOD for Lane County, underscoring the spirit of community and giving back.

When: Thursday, January 25 – Sunday, January 28, during mall hours
Where: Valley River Center, throughout the mall
Community Support through a Food Drive:
As part of our commitment to community welfare, Valley River Center encourages visitors to participate in the Food Drive during the Model Train Show. Non-perishable food items can be donated at the FOOD for Lane County donation bin located at Center Court. Popular donation items include canned meats and fish, stews, chilis, broths, peanut butter, dried fruit, apple sauce, canned fruit without syrup, pasta, rice, cereal, dried beans, oatmeal, Masa, mole, chiles, canned vegetables, and beans.
How to Contribute:
Bring your non-perishable food items to the donation bin at Center Court during the Model Train Show from Thursday, January 25, to Sunday, January 28.

George Custer lives in Oakridge with his wife Sayre. George is a former smokejumper from his hometown of Cave Junction, a former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. and ran a construction company in Southern California. George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022. He loves riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, building all things wood, and playing drums on the weekends in his office.
