The Oakridge fireworks photo in H58H on July 5 is still disturbing to look at, as wildfires continue to destroy forests in Oregon and other far western states.
What were Oakridge City Council members thinking when they approved it by 5 to 2 the use of fireworks near the border of one of the greatest forests on earth? The precious natural beauty surrounding Oakridge is irreplaceable and needs to be protected and cherished.
It doesn’t take pioneer blood in your veins to know that. Just common sense.
