There are times when living in Oakridge can look as though we’re in some kind of war zone. About 10 days ago, I noticed a late model car parked along High Prairie Road about a block from where it splits from Westoak. Over the next few days, I could see that the trunk was jimmied open, and the destruction was beginning.
Today it was a burned-up hulk; once again, a mess for somebody else to clean up. This all happened a quarter mile from the Oakridge Police Department. I understand that this is out of their jurisdiction (or is it?), but is this our future, automobiles destroyed and burned on the outskirts of town? There must be a reasonable answer. Oakridge and the surrounding area shouldn’t look like Beirut or Gaza.
