By LYNDA KAMERRER/for The Herald  —  The subtle lighting in the 3 Legged Crane may cause some to overlook the attractive desserts waiting under a cover at the ‘order here’ part of the bar.  For this writer, however, they are conveniently at about eye level.  Being a pastry lover and baker myself, I felt a magnetic force drawing me to the Ginger Cream Sandwich Cookie.  It is heavenly.

Liz’s considers her style of baking Midwestern

Liz Kramer is the baker behind the bar.  She developed a love for baking as a child by watching and helping her mother in the kitchen.  Liz describes her baking style as ‘’from the Midwest”, developed while growing up in northeast Ohio.  She has put considerable time into researching and perfecting recipes using coconut flour, coconut sugar, and other ingredients to make sweet treats with the right texture and flavors.  Customers with dietary restrictions will find vegan and gluten free options available every week, while supplies last!

The 3 Legged Crane offers a wide variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee and tea. The best-selling dessert by far is the ginger cookie mentioned above, which pairs well with a stout.  This cookie is really two cookies (take note), put together with a cream cheese buttercream filling.  A few of the other desserts on the menu:   Lemon Bars, Brownies, Pumpkin Bacon Cupcakes, and Seasonal Fruit Crisp. Staff are happy to package to go desserts if you are just popping in for baked goods. Be on the lookout for some special Easter offerings this week.
